Kirsty is a registered psychologist providing therapy for individuals and couples. She holds a Master of Professional Psychology from the Griffith University and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from University of Queensland. She has worked in community mental health and private practice, where she has supported children, teens, adults and families navigating the challenges of life.

Kirsty has completed extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples under the tutelage of Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald. When working with couples, Kirsty brings non-judgmental curiosity to ensure each partner feels safe to express themselves. She facilitates deeper understanding of the challenges and blocks to connection in the relationship and works with you to overcome them. Kirsty can assist with issues such as emotional distance and disconnection, difficulties with communication, navigating difficult life events, or simply strengthening and deepening your bond.

When working with individual clients, Kirsty integrates a variety of approaches that best suit you as a person and your specific difficulties. She draws the following modalities to tailor therapy to your goals:

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Kirsty is interested in helping people overcome difficulties with anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma-related symptoms, grief and loss, relationship problems, or things “just not feeling right”. Kirsty strives to make you feel welcome, safe and accepted as you explore your problem or goals together and find your way to flourishing.
